Join Professor Frank DeCourten for another of his popular geology talks and hikes!

The Saturday hike will provide opportunities to directly explore the volcanic rocks and landscape features along the portion of the Pacific Crest Trail between the trailhead on Old Highway 40, through the Sugar Bowl ski area and along the Judah Loop to Roller Pass. The hike offers spectacular views of the volcanic peaks and many opportunities to examine the details of volcanic rocks directly.

 

Hike: Saturday, August 6, 2011 from 8:30AM - 12:30PM
Pacific Crest Trailhead, parking area off Old Highway 40 (Donner Pass Road), 0.1 mile from Sugar Bowl Judah Lodge turnoff and near to Sugar Bowl Academy. See website for driving instructions.
Free for Members, $10 for Non-Members
