Dr. Balaam and Dr. Messerlian of Large Animal Veterinary Services will present on important information that all equestrians should consider when riding in the backcountry. Topics will include planning and preparing, first aid, common backcountry problems and treatment, vital signs and nutritional considerations.

Spring Speaker Series – Calling all Equestrians, Hunters and Fishermen

      This March, the Tahoe Rim Trail Association and Cabela’s of Reno are teaming up to deliver a Spring Speaker Series for all outdoorsmen and women in and around the northern Sierra. With a particular emphasis on Backcountry Equestrians, we’ve lined up topics ranging from equestrian first aid and nutrition to safe evacuation strategies for yourself and your stock in the case of a wildfire. Join us for a talk each Wednesday in March from 6PM to 8PM to get ready for a safe and fun summer on the trail. Online registration will be open on February 1st at www.tahoerimtrail.org.
